Posts: 6 05/16/08 03:05	Hi Lizbitt. I am Angie74, the one who apparently sent some people into a craze ??? First off, to clear some stuff up for some, back in April I was on the TAPS Revealed board which had a link to Brenda in PAs post, I clicked on it & it brought me here to this site. I still haven't perused this website at all so no clue what this site is or what it's for but I was reading the posts about Ghost Hunters. I'm not a troll, Brenda & I are not the same person, I didn't post here to start trouble, etc. all theories some seem to have come up with. I still haven't read all the posts past mine. I made that post back in early April & honestly completely forgot about this post & Brenda's post & everything dealing with this board....until about 20 min ago when I got an e-mail from "staff@mgr1.yuku.com" stating "whelty has responded to your post". Having no clue what this was I clicked on the link in the e-mail & here I am & it refreshed my memory. With a rambunctious 2 yr old running amuck it's sometimes hard to stay glued to the computer keeping tabs with everywhere I've been unfortunately. Basically I forgot all about this, therefore that's why I seemed to have disappeared. Secondly, as for the TAPS info I mentioned, the majority of that info is common knowledge & some of it isn't. I'm not a member of the TAPS team, I don't know the members that personally though I have conversed with a couple & have been by the TAPS office, most recently last Thursday. In fact Brian, however no longer a member, was just looking for people to go out with him around 10 at night to investigate a local cemetary, I told him it would be great if it didn't take me a f ew hours to get there & it was last minute notice a half an hour before he went. Despite being on a tv show, they're regular guys who have regular jobs but just happen to be on this reality tv show, though Jason has seemed to bask in the spotlight a bit, majority of them have been quite humble. Far be it for me to jump on someone & immed. call them a flat out liar, however, this type of claim or smear campaign runs rampant in the world of TAPS & the Ghost Hunters show. If you only knew how much crap goes on & is claimed by people you'd be overwhelmed. Brenda's "story" is similar to others who have tried to come up with these BS stories in order to either start trouble or to attempt to gain something. In a couple instances it involved stalking, not only a member but they & their family. Brenda's story is so similar & along the lines of the others that the only way to deal with it is to take it with a grain of salt, in essence her diatribe is a dime a dozen. It can sometimes also border on fan obsession to dangerous, such as the one individual who threatened the female TAPS members with rape, that was real lovely but thankfully the guy is in jail now. There's been claims of a member's infidelity to tax legality issues to you name it. Not to mention Brenda's inconsistencies with how long the guys investigate to getting local paranormal groups many of which are already part of the TAPS family. The vans or SUVs are only there when there is filming. They were there last Thursday in front of the office on W. Shore Rd (new location) because there was filming that day. Other than that the guys have their own vehicles. I don't claim to speak for them, I'm just speaking the basic facts of what does go on. And like I said I'm am wholeheartedly skeptical not only about spirits but about a small portion of the findings on the show, it would not surprise me if some of the things were trumped up for television. Do I think some things are honest findings? Yes. Do I think some things are made more dramatic? Absolutely. Take the Manson episode with the glitch in the FLIR, or should I say obvious fudging of the display. From what I'm being told however, some of these things are done by either Sci Fi or Pilgrim Films for dramatic effect unbeknownst to Jason or Grant. Anyhow, as to not make this long if there's anything I missed that you had asked let me know. I'll try hard to get back on this site in the future.

On the contrary I honestly feel Brenda was your troll & trying to start crap so that the flaming would start. One reason back when I was a paying AOL member that I stopped frequenting theie message boards. Too much drama & too many of what they now call "trolls". Someone else had mentioned something to the effect of if I say Brenda is lying why should anyone believe me. No one has to believe me, however what I say is true & as long as I know it's true that's all that matters. I have nothing to gain from what I say, I just get irritated with all these people coming out of the woodwork trying to get some type of compensation from these guys with all these stories circulating on the net from people who haven't even ever spoken to any of these guys in their life. How horrible it can be to have threats against your family, which includes small children, from some obsessed fan to only then have strangers coming out from everywhere conjuring up these soap opera stories for shock value. Mountains out of molehills. Technically, no, no one has to believe me, I just say what is going on, I have zip to gain from what I say.

All views on this subject are welcome, as long as, you are willing to keep expressing your side of the story. One thing that I personally hate, and most others do to, is when a troll comes on and makes a comment and never returns so we can at least in some fashion debate it. Sorry if I came across too strong, but that is just me. I tell it like I see it and don't hold back when doing it... ... THE LURKER !!!

Posts: 2 05/29/08 12:10	I'm new to this particular form.. it's one of those days where I start in one place, and eventually end up elsewhere.. that's how I got here. :P I have been watching GH for a while now, and have read Jay and Grant's book. While I am new to hearing/reading about the troubles that clients are going through (or have been through), I have definitely seen a side of Jay and Grant (with regards to Brian) that is disgusting. I can't understand why so much time was given on the show (and in the book) to the personal problems of Brian.. and then the problems between he and Jay and Grant. Aside from the hope that maybe it would add to viewer ratings, I see absolutely no reason to air this dirty laundry to the viewing public. When I read the book, I was even more disappointed. Is the book about Jay and Grant's ventures in ghost hunting? Or about how Brian spent his nights on the cell phone instead of behind some kind of ghost detecting device? What brought me to post was reading that bit from Ted about how one of the Paranormal mags had "Brian's paranormal CRASH" on the cover. This is a complete disservice to the paranormal field, in my opinion. So to me, it seems it's all about money at this point. When did Jay and Grant decide to skip out on helping others, and dive right into the money?

LOL What I'm getting from Brenda's post.. and correct me if I'm wrong.. is that she didn't know they were going to air the episode? It sounded like she wanted confidentiality. In what way? She didn't want her name used? She didn't want her daughter shown? She didn't know her case would be on tv? Just curious. The only thing that really bugged me about this episode is that the little girl was there during most of the interviews with the mom. It's bad enough the child was being harassed (supposedly) by ghosts, but I don't ever see a reason to bring a little kid into the episodes, much less have everybody talking about the ghosts and haunting activities around them. (At least Grant was trying to distract her some of the time).

I get really upset when I see the old eps when Brian was on. I still don't see his screw ups like J and G says. But for some reason, Jason disliked Brian. I also think it's not a professional thing to air out the Team's dirty laundry in their episodes. Now J and G has me gagging again with all the praises on Steve. He's doing the same thing Brian did, make sure the equipment is set up right. But instead of Steve talking on the cell to his girl, he's too busy making smart remarks to Tango. Stupid stuff. I think the reason why I keep watching the show is because I keep hoping they will find something and we will be able to see it.

Posts: 3 09/22/08 08:17	Im sorry to have necroed this thread but I saw this on google as I search for this episode. I have to disagree with altgirl on this one. I, too, live in Altoona and I know Brenda (everyone knows Brenda as she started her own ghost hunting club shortly after TAPS visited her house). Brenda talked to some of us aspiring "ghosthunters" and this was brought up because someone posted on the official TAPs forums as Brenda expressing how she gets death threats now from TAPs and how an athiest blessed her house and how the EVPs were fakes, etc, etc. The Brenda we talked too (the one in Episode one season one) stated she never posted anything on the TAPs forums and if anything, she thanked Taps for giving her the drive to do her own ghosthaunting. So, this is really confusing for me. Either the Brenda we know in Altoona is lying and she posts here and there because she is secretly upset about how TAPs treated her or someone is "mudding up her name." Brenda has told us many good things that happened during that night. I would assume if she was that pissed, you could have at least seen it in her face. She was beaming excited. She did not look pissed or scared. Sorry. I created my account to state this because there is something fishy about this. But I will be a regular here as I love ghosthunting and being a wife of an Anglican Priest, Ive heard everything!!

I had hoped she would come back and talk more, but I understand if she doesn't. I don't know if someone is out there posting for Brenda or not. The post we got was very interesting. But this is not the only thread we have on the board where TAPS has visited or they talked to them. I will have to dig and find that thread. I also read on Scifi GH forum about other people saying something about TAPS investigations. So I would love to hear as much as I can about this subject. Everyone's opinion is welcomed here. It can get pretty heated but still, we would love to hear from everyone if they have something to say on the subject. Again welcome.

Posts: 64 09/23/08 08:06	Very interesting. Here's something from Pam Gates Hoyt, from that investigation in New Orleans, the one I felt that one TAPS girl chickened out. Turns out that she didn't chicken out, it was scripted! And that door that opened and closed, but couldn't debunk? It was faked! Now, I've really lost some faith in this show. Could this be the person that was banned from the TAPS board? First, You Make a Roux Excerpts from the interview: He called me and said, "Pam, you know when they came back out here for the reveal (we were not allowed to go), the door that Jason is looking at to make sure it couldn't have opened and shut on its own? That door is not even in this house." I questioned Jason about it. He got pissed off and gave me some crap about it being too dark to film in there so they filmed it back at their office in Rhode Island. That was the beginning of the end of me with TAPS! And how about this paragraph about the possible length of investigations? Investigations aren't that long because they don't want to pay overtime? It makes sense though. I don't know about that one. Like I said, we arrived at the house between 6 and 7 pm and we were told that they had to have the crew back to the hotel in NO before midnight or they would have to pay them double time. So, everything wrapped up by 9:30 or 10 at the very latest. Not much of an investigation huh? And is this why Jason and Grant don't do thorough investigations for people with small houses? Did I mention that there were 21 crew members from Pilgrim Productions, 7 members of TAPS, myself, Michelle and Ashley, Bruce and Jason DeVille all there at the same time? I don't know. It's kind of hard to debunk this interview, since this person is giving out her real name and other people's real names. Hmmmmm...something to think about. Last Edited By: rowell1 09/23/08 08:21.
