Yeah, sure, "Brenda in PA". I believe you as far as I can throw you. You know some skeptics & conspiracy theorists will eat up what you're saying like candy. People LOVE a conspiracy so the smallest thing someone comes up with they instantly believe. I for one am skeptical about Ghost Hunters myself, there are many many things I don't believe or question BUT those who try so hard to come up with all these supposed secrets are grasping for things that just sometimes simply don't exist. The first guy's long thread about all the things he felt he picks out that are soooo wrong. He's going on assumption, not fact. Not to mention he doesn't even know that the guy with Jason is GRANT & not Steve, he knows so much about this show yet doesn't even have the correct names???? TAPS does in fact go to locations for muc MUCH longer than a few hours or one night. They are there sometimes for anywhere from 3 days to an entire week. Sci Fi cannot possibly fit that amount of time into an hour show. This is a solid fact that has been around since way before Sci Fi came along. The show IS entertainment, it's what it's supposed to be. The show "ghost hunters" was created by Sci Fi. TAPS is a whole other area of the spectrum. Many forget that the entire idea of the show is to follow the LIVES of people who investigate the paranormal, it is not, & never was, supposed to teach others how to ghost hunt or show others how it is done. It is a reality show. Reality shows, despite their title, are NOT reality, they are pure entertainment. There are many things TAPS does that is not shown on camera, therefore leaving holes in stories, theories, & creating fuel for the fire of conspiracy theorists. We only see what they want us to see, however many other things are involved. We may feel they didn't investigate a particular area when in fact they actually did but OFF camera, the show IS edited down in time for television remember. And of course money is involved. What idiot schmuck would do this on tv if no money came into the mix? Of course they are getting paid for this. The vehicles they use however are not their own. Sci Fi loans the vans, SUVs, etc to them for the show only. They don't muse these vehicles all the time, they don't own them, they use their own vehicles when doing an investigation not on tv. Not all homeowners want to be on tv either therefore there are many investigations we never get to see. There are many things we don't know about therefore it leaves it open to those who like a juicy conspiracy theory. Gotta love those theories, some people will believe just about anything if it makes for a good story. Like I said I too am skeptical about alot, BUT I also know that there isn't some big bad secret thing going on. I mean really, if the show is that unappealing to where it gets to the point that someone feels there is malicious intent going on, why bother to watch? Why bother to complain about it? Just don't turn the show on, very simple. I like it because its intent is to ENTERTAIN, it's not some how-to show & they're not asking you for your money, but please don't make assumptions when there is no solid proof. And if you believe just anyone who comes on here, like the mysteriosu Brenda from PA, then you'll believe just about anything from just about anyone who comes on here claiming anything. I could come in & say I was a homeowner who had gtheir home investigated & I was threatened by TAPS & make all types of accusations.......you'd believe me? I'd believe someone face to face knowing they were legit with avisible form of credentials knowing they were involved with TAPS way before I believe just anyone with a monitor & access to the net without proof. I guess the conspiracy theories & mystery posts on the net go hand in hand. If you believe words on a screen who claims to get death threats from them then you'll believe just about anything. I'm sure there's a grassy knoll & magic bullet involved here too.
