The Old Commercial dates back to 1837 and has a rich history. The Old Commercial Hotel has had several names including the "Pollard House" and Union Inn. In 1861 the Old Commercial was badly burned and nearly destroyed. Today visitors can still see some damage caused by the 1861 fire. Of historical note is the bannister on the main stair case is the original from the mid 1800's and still bears evidence of the fire. Posts: 2329 Jan 3 10 11:55 AM GRIN REAPER MODERATOR	OMG! Her husband, a cop here in Evansdale, his dad and son, spent the night at the hotel while working on it this fall. He figured this was all BS. so he was sleeping in one room and grandpa and kid were alseep in the next room. He says he woke up with pressure on his chest, couldnt breathe like someone was holding his mouth shut, and someone stealing the covers off the bed from the bottom. Scared the crap out of him so he yelled at it to go away. It stopped and he went to sleep with grandpa and kid. eeewwwww! http://jim-kinney.com
