The last issue is one that is unfortunately common to the paranormal field. The general issue is hoaxing, but the reason this comes even more to the forefront comes from the most well known paranormal investigators, TAPS. On the live Halloween episode of Ghost Hunters, Grant Wilson had an experience of having his jacket tugged on 3 different occassions and them being caught on IR video and on thermal video. People have jumped all over this, claiming that Grant pulled a string that induced this. They also key up how Jason Hawes didn't seem so "into" it. People have claimed that since Ghost Hunters has been such a popular show, that they are getting desperate to produce results. TAPS is a mainstay amongst the paranormal field. They have openly invited the public into their domain to see how things work. They are who a lot of groups emulate. To insinuate that TAPS just out of the blue is hoaxing "evidence" is a huge leap of faith. There are countless Youtube videos dedicated to showing how Grant "hoaxed" this clip. One thing no one seems to be doing is giving TAPS any benefit of the doubt. TAPS is the reason many of us do what we do. They have never been in question like this, and they have often professed how they are here to help people. Jason and Grant have both publicly said on their blogs on myspace individually that they would gladly throw away Ghost Hunters if it meant that they would be free of such criticism. They have stated that the show doesn't mean as much to them as their passion for TAPS and the people it helps. These guys are incredible people, they take time and money out of their personal lives just to help those who feel they have a paranormal issue. In my honest opinion, TAPS has earned the right to be given the benefit of doubt. People are entitled to their own opinion, but I can promise you that this investigator will back TAPS and the people involved until something a little more real happens to pop up. If TAPS is hoaxing, I need to see proof. In a field where proof is paramount, it's hard for me to see people jumping on TAPS without cold hard proof.
