In the city where I live, more than likely, we will get illegal immigrants who work at the meat processing plant a mile from here, or the drug dealers who have been kicked out of everywhere else. I love this neighborhood and agree that low income people have the right to buy a home if they are hard working people and keep it up to the neighborhood standards, which is not so much fancy as it is clean, and we all watch out for eachother. Thank God we have a Headstart child center so the sex offenders can't live around here.
my neighborhood is made up of people who work and raise their kids. They own their homes and saved to buy them. Many are retired and most can't afford to live in the more affluent neighborhoods. We have woods and deer, and watch eachother's homes while they are gone on vacation or at work. the kids can ride their bikes to the park and back and everyone knows who talked to whom by the time they get home. we sit in each other's garages and drink beer in the summer, go icamping together and cry together when one is sick. But I guess the governing body thought they could improve on that and build rent to own homes in a waterway. Go figure.
